The Dutch athletics beauty breaks the oldest record in the world

On the second day of the Dutch Athletics Athletics Tournament in Apeldoorn on February 19, Femke Bol won the gold medal to run 400m when he reached the finish line after 49.26 seconds. Her achievement has broken the record of 41 years of the Czech legend Jarmila Kratochvilova (49.59 seconds).

The previous record was established by Kratochvilova on March 7, 1982. It is the oldest world record in any international tournament, including indoors and outdoors. The outdoor 400m world record of 47.60 seconds was created by the Legs of Malor of Marita Koch in 1985.

“Thanks to all the fans present in the yard, I have achieved this record. When I passed the finish line, I knew that that record belonged to me because of the cheers that everyone created,” Femke Bol shared after the competition.
