“After listening to advice from the medical team, I was advised to spend more time for recovery. Therefore, I will not be able to prepare to attend the 2025 Badminton Championship. I personally try to return stronger in the future,” Axelsen said.

In the past, Viktor Axelsen had 2 Olympic championships, and twice the world championship in 2017 and 2022. He is considered one of the best players of the world badminton history in men's singles. The peak career of this player has lasted for the past 10 years.

After the Paris Olympic Games, Viktor Axelsen did not appear much at the international badminton tournaments as before. He had physical problems, and injured with more and more frequency when he turned 30. By 2025, Axelsen won the two World Tour tournaments in India and Germany.
