These people will be deprived of a medal, as well as receiving a ban on playing if they are positive for doping.
According to the SEA Games 31 regulations, the athletes required to test doping are athletes who win a medal, or athletes competing in subjects that are at high risk of using doping such as weightlifting, athletics … However, at the last 31 SEA Games, no weightlifting athlete of Vietnam positive for banned substances.
Before the appearance of the Vietnam Sports delegation, there was a positive athlete with doping at the 31st SEA Games, Singapore also had a shower with similar mistakes. Joseph Schooling, who won the Rio Olympic gold medal, admitted to using addictive substances during the tournament. Another member of Singapore swimming also used the banned substance as the female athletes Amanda Lim.
At the 31st SEA Games, the Vietnamese sports delegation ranked first place with 205 gold medals, 125 gold medals and 116 bronze medals. In particular, athletics is one of the most contributing subjects to the host country with 22 gold medals, 14 gold medals and 8 bronze medals, ranking the whole group and leaving the second ranking of Thailand (12 gold medals).
