Women's 4x400m relay content is one of the final items of Vietnamese athletics that can attend the Paris Olympic Games. The World Athletics Federation will calculate the achievements, as well as the ranking of the teams until June 30 to close the list of competition at the upcoming Olympics.
According to the World Athletics Federation, the 4x400m relay content took 16 tickets to the Olympic Games. 14 tickets among them are based on the results of the world championship, taking place in the Bahamas in early May. There are only 2 tickets based on the best parameters of the teams.
With this Olympic ticket calculation, Cuba and Nigeria are the two teams with the best parameters. The Cuba team has a record of 3 minutes 26 seconds 08 in July 2023. Meanwhile, the Nigeria team achieved 3 minutes 27 seconds 29. Right after these two teams were Bahrain, Germany, Czech Republic and Hungary.
The 6 teams above all have a 4x400m relay content competition at less than 3 minutes 28 seconds. This can be considered a “standard” parameter to estimate the achievements of the teams attending the Olympic. Meanwhile, the Vietnamese team currently has the best achievement of 3 minutes 30 seconds 81.
The above parameters help the Vietnamese athletics team temporarily ranked 30th on the Olympic qualifying rankings. In order to enter the group of 2 teams with the best parameters, Vietnamese athletes need to shorten the current achievement of 3.52 seconds. This is a very difficult goal for Vietnamese team members.
Within Asia, countries that have tickets to the Olympic Games are only 4x400m relay with India. Bahrain, the team winning gold medal ASIAD 19 in this content, there is no ticket. They did not send the team to the World Relay Championship 2024. Sri Lanka recruited ASIAD bronze medal, but there was no ticket to the Olympics.
