With this achievement, Ms. Hawkins set a new world record when she became the first athlete and was the first American to set a world record for athletics and set items from 105 years old and older, according to the National Senior Games.

Ms. Hawkins is a retired and famous teacher in the sports world of the elderly. She started playing at the National Sports Festival at the age of 80 and dominated the bicycle.

By the age of 100, Ms. Hawkins switched to competition because there was no opponent in the bicycle racing. In 2017, she set a world record at a distance of 100m for people over 100 years old with a time of 39 seconds 62. When this record was broken by Diane Friedman in September, Ms. Hawkins decided to compete in a new age category.

Notably, Ms. Hawkins was not satisfied with the achievements just achieved in Louisiana. “I like to run and want to become inspiration for others,” Hawkins said. “I want to run until it is possible. The message I want to send to everyone is always active if you want to be healthy and happy when you get older.”

“It is great to receive the cheers of friends and old family. However, I want to accomplish 100m within 1 minute,” Hawkins revealed the target in the upcoming races.
