Talking about her training in the past months, Nhi Yen said she had to suspend her studying to go to Asiad. In the coming time, Nhi Yen will adjust to balance learning and practice and competition. She also aims to improve personal achievements to aim for future tournaments.

Like the new “speed queen” of Vietnamese athletics, Tran Thi Nhi Yen has made speedy progress in the past 1 year. The girl born in 2005 achieved impressive achievements at the National Sports Festival 2022, then represented the Vietnamese athletics to attend the 32nd SEA Games and ASIAD 19.

At the 32nd SEA Games, Nhi Yen is one of the biggest counterparts of Veronica Shanti Pereira, Singaporean athlete. Although the foot running from the lion island has acquired gold medals of both 100m and 200m female content, Nhi Yen also shows that she is not inferior. She won the bronze medal of 100m female and 200m female gold medal.

However, to ASIAD 19, the results of the two athletes were completely different. Pereira continues to show the level of the leading athletes in the continent when winning 100m of female and 200m female gold medal. In the opposite direction, Nhi Yen could not have a medal. However, reaching the final round in 2 short content is an unexpected achievement of the Vietnamese athletes.

Commenting on the Asian champion Veronica Shanti Pereira, Nhi Yen said the Singapore athletes have improved the performance very well in a short time. This is a prerequisite for Pereira to reach the group of world -class athletes, although before, she has not really been among the groups of the most powerful sprint running in Asia.
