Throughout his career, Mr. Bui Luong is known as a legend in the Vietnamese athletics village. He has over 60 years of working with this sport as a coach as well as athletes.
He and conquered many noble titles, highlighted by 9 times of the nationwide championship, including 8 consecutive champions from 1967 to 1974 (along with another time in 1961).
Bui Luong athlete has set a national marathon record with a record of 2 hours 32 minutes in 1968. What Bui Luong does exist for 35 years. It was not until 2003 that his student Nguyen Chi Dong successfully destroyed.
In addition, Mr. Bui Luong also broke 2 national records in the content running 5,000m with a record of 15 minutes 45 seconds 05 and running 10,000m with 32 minutes 44 seconds 08.
After many years of dedication on the run, this athlete born in 1939 transferred to the training after he completed the program at the University of Sports.
He had the merit of guiding many athletes to reach the highest level at the national level including Nguyen Thi Hoa, Pham Thi Hien, Bui Thi Hien, Bui The Anh, Tran Van Loi …
In 2016, coach Bui Luong was honored by the Organizing Committee of the Victory Cup and awarded a lifetime achievement award. He was the first to have the honor to receive the award.
