Nguyen Thi Oanh is the second athlete of the Vietnamese team to play in the Athletics Tournament in the Asian House 2023. This content does not take the qualifying round but in the final with the presence of 8 athletes.
Oanh's opponents are strong athletes from China, Japan and host Kazakhstan. Kenya's naturalized athletes, Caroline Chepkoech Kipkirui (1994) and a veteran foot born in 1992 Tatyana Neroznak are two representatives of the home team. Japan also has 2 athletes, while China owns a star running on the average of He Wuga born in 1998.
The results are as predicted by experts, Kipkirui won gold medals with a record of 9: 01.98. He Wuga won a silver medal with parameters 9: 03.43, a bronze medal belongs to Yuma Yamamot of Japan (9: 09.29). Despite great efforts, Nguyen Thi Oanh still could not squeeze into the group to win medals.
At the 31st SEA Games, Oanh broke the record for 3,000m to exceed obstacles with a record of 9: 52.06. However, in the tournament is taking place in Kazakhstan, due to indoor competition, the contents of obstacles do not appear. Oanh's “pepper” is expected to play the 1500m female content on the evening of 11/2.
Earlier, Nguyen Thi Huyen played a 400m female qualifying round and excelled in the second round with a record of 55 seconds 86 (55.86), winning tickets to the final. Huyen will take the 400m female final on the afternoon of 11/2. The remaining two athletes of Vietnamese athletics are Luong Duc Phuoc Thi 1500m on the evening of February 11, 2023, Nguyen Trung Cuong competes in 3000m men on the afternoon of February 12.
The Asian Athletics Athletes 2023 took place in Kazakhstan from February 10 to February 12, 2023. This tournament is considered an opportunity for athletics teams in Southeast Asia to rub, accumulate experience, prepare for the 32nd SEA Games in Cambodia in May.
