In the classification race, Verstappen is one of the riders fined for technical errors. This makes the World F1 defending champion start in the 7th position at the beginning of the Italian GP race.

The two riders struggled until the turning point occurred in the 12th race. During that time, Ferrari decided to put Leclerc into the medium tire replacement pit, accidentally helping Verstappen take the leading position. Leclerc dropped to the third after returning to the race.

Ferrari's racer quickly overcame Russell and then quickly regained the first place when Verstappen entered the pit in the round of 26. But in round 33, Verstappen once again took advantage of Leclerc into the pit to change the second tire to recapture the No. 1 position.

In round 47, the safe car appeared to escort Daniel Ricciardo, who once returned to the Monza race last year. Meanwhile, all the riders enter the pit switching to soft tires.

The safe car was deployed to the final round that the opponents were chasing Verstappen without the opportunity to overcome. The Dutch racer rolled in the first position, followed by him, Leclerc and Russell.

With this victory, Verstappen created a 116 -point gap with Leclerc on the individual chart, thereby full of opportunities to protect the championship in the F1 2022 season.
